Meme coins
Have you ever heard of a joke turning into something worth thousands upon millions of dollars? Well, this has actaully happened in real life with the power of meme coins. You might've heard of the legendary Doge or Pepe memes. These memes got turned into digital crypto currencies backed by millions of dallars! These meme coins are created and live on different platforms with the biggest and well known being Solana.
What is Solana?
Think of Solana as a super fast train in the crypto space. Unlike Bitcoin, Solana can handle thousands of transactions every second. Allthough it is quick, it is not as secure as Bitcoin. The thing is, its cheap and fast which is why alot of small and big memecoins choose to launch on Solana.
What are Meme Coins?
Finally, you've gotten to the actual explanation. Meme Coins are cryptocurrencies that start as jokes or trends, but people invest in them anyway. Meme coins such as Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pepe have crown to have multimillion dollar market caps. Meme coins are mostly driven by trends in the media. Let't take brainrot for example! Everyone knows the brainrot terms, but what if I told you that a coin just being named a brainrot term could turn into millions of dollars. Right now, a coin called "rizzmas" has a 3.8 million dollar market cap. Back in December, the market cap was over 10 million dollars!
Risk
Just because something is popular doesn't always mean that it is valuable. Meme coins are one of the most volatile things that you can buy. The price can jump %10,000 percent or lose %99 in just a copule of hours. Trading memecoins are like buying a toy because everyone has one, but then it breaks in one day. A countless amount of people have made millions off of memecoins while the same amount of people have also lost everything
